Nanoleaf Bloom Dimming Bulbs Over $160,000 During Final Days on Kickstarter: Setting mood lighting  just got easier, at least that’s what Toronto-based inventors Gimmy Chu, Tom Rodinger, and Christain Yan state anyway. The three self proclaiming ‘tree-huggers’ launched a $30,000 crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for Nanoleaf Blooms, the dimmable light bulbs that do not need a dimmer.

My botty best at summarizing from Wikipedia: Nanoleaf is a company specializing in LED lighting. Founded in 2012 by three engineers, the limited company launched its first two products with crowdfunding campaigns on Kickstarter. the crowdfunding campaign for NanoLight (later renamed Nanoleaf One) received $250,000 from the crowdfunding site . the company also received funding from Horizons Ventures, an investment company owned by Li Ka Shing the company’s lightbulbs are made up of small LEDs on a folded circuit board and feature an origami-like design . each Light Panel connects together with linkers (SD card-like connector chips), while Nanoleaf bulbs also have overheat protection which allows the bulb to dim itself if it gets too hot . the product claims to be the world’s most energy efficient light bulb . Originally offered in Black, White and Arctic Leaf colors, the Bloom was later released with different designs including patterns with the Moomin character, hearts and maple leaves . the Gem was the company’s first dimmable glass bulb and the Nanoleaf Light Panels are the company’s first color changing product . the Rhythm Module is the first light panels upgrade . they can also be controlled using voice control and manual controller .
