A mom chronicles famous daughter’s journey: Though French-born Monique Enos always wanted to be an actress herself, she followed a different path when she married her American husband, Jon, and had five children. While Enos worked as a French and Spanish teacher, she encouraged her children in their talents as they attended Houston’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. At Mireille Enos’ childhood home in Sugar Land, her mother reminisced with 30-year-old scrapbooks, online albums and photos of her famous daughter hanging on the walls. Enos recalled the days of commuting to HSPVA on her way to work, then staying late to pick her daughter up from play practice. Mireille Enos received a first-place scholarship award in the Musicfest Theater Art competition for her role as Anne Frank during her senior year. Monique Enos recalled how the casting directors were so pleased with her daughter’s work that they cast her as Detective Sarah Linden in AMC’s “The Killing,” now in its third season. Family life Besides having a famous daughter, Monique Enos also has a famous son-in-law.
Mireille Enos Is Killing Us….The Star of AMC’s The KillingLike You’ve Never Seen Her: Mireille Enos
Enos poised to make a ‘Killing’ on AMC crime drama – USATODAY.com: Like Mad Men and Breaking Bad before it, The Killing, AMC’s newest drama premiering Sunday (10 ET/PT), will likely elevate the careers of its cast members, most prominently, lead actress, Mireille Enos, 35.
Sugar Land’s Mireille Enos has made her mark with dark and dreary roles: The Sugar Land native and High School for the Performing and Visual Arts grad is best known for doing three seasons of “The Killing,” work that requires a lot of standing in the rain in Vancouver during the winter. Fittingly on the show, she plays Detective Sarah Linden, an anguished Seattle officer who does the decidedly glum work of investigating the murders of children. […] she was Karin Lane in “World War Z,” which allowed Enos to clutch a walkie-talkie waiting for calls from Brad Pitt, who was being pursued by zombies. […] I did just shoot a lovely little movie called ‘If I Stay’ with Chloë Moretz based on a lovely young adult novel. […] Enos works well amid death and darkness. Because she’s played such quiet types, Enos has had to find physical ways to convey information, particularly on “The Killing.” After the cable channel pulled the plug a second time, Netflix stepped in with plans to shoot a short fourth season to air this year. Enos – who has received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for the show – can’t talk about plot points, but says, It’s a continuation of where we left off in Season 3. The first of those is “Devil’s Knot,” a feature film about the West Memphis 3 – a trio of Arkansas teenagers who were believed by many to be innocent of three 1993 child murders for which they were convicted; they were released in 2011. Enos plays Vicki Hutcherson, who was a crucial figure in turning the police investigation toward the accused, even though she later recanted her testimony.
