Letter to the Community: How far GrabCAD has come – GrabCAD Blog: From the very early days of GrabCAD, I’ve had dreams of what it could be. It wasn’t “get to one million users” or “earn one million dollars.” It was always “wouldn’t it be cool if you could share CAD and have integrated tools all in one place?”

My botty best at summarizing from Wikipedia: GrabCAD moved its HQ to Cambridge, MA in 2011 . GrabCAD evolved into a community for engineers to share CAD models . on September 16, 2014 GrabCAD was acquired by Stratasys . the Community also offers pro bono challenges like ModVic’s “Steampunk Wheelchair” and the “Eyes to Hear” Challenge . Workbench is used by companies to support the design of physical products . Workbench users can view 3D models, markup, explode, measure and pin comments, all directly in the browser . Currently there are four apps available from Keyshot, Autodesk, IronCAD and Solid Edge .
